Once you have taken the decision to employ extinguishers in your business it is then a requirement to have them serviced annually. The servicing must be carried out by a ‘competent person’. The easiest method of proving competence is to use engineers qualified under a scheme such as the FIA / FETA training course.

Extinguisher servicing can seem confusing at times to business owners with fluctuating annual bills and regular replacement of devices. However it doesn’t have to be so complicated. The rules on extinguisher servicing are quite simple.

Huddersfield Fire’s pricing is quite straight forward:

Annual basic service
Initial site visit and basic service of one extinguisher £20+vat
Basic service of additional extinguishers £2.50+vat each

Extended Service (Every 5th year for stored-pressure units)
Extended service £12.50+vat each

Brand new extinguishers can be supplied and commissioned from 36+vat
